Aboitiz Power is hoping the income of the 289 MW Tiwi and 458 MW Makban geothermal complex in Laguna within the next two years.
It is also aiming to finish the rehabilitation and expansion of the 75 MW Ambuklao-Binga plant within the period.
Starting from August 2009, the company’s 42.5 MW Sibulan hydroelectric project in Davao del Sur will be operational. The project involves the construction of two cascading hydropower generating facilities tapping the Sibulan and Baroring rivers.
In the first quarter of 2010, meanwhile, Aboitiz Power is projected to begin commercial operations of its 3×82 MW coal-fired power plant in Toledo City in Cebu.
Aboitiz Power is rising around PHP3 billion from the issuance of fixed-rate bonds to finance its future acquisitions and the rehabilitation and expansion of power assets.
Aboitiz Power said it persists to look at power plants owned by the National Power Corporation that will be auctioned by the government.
Aboitiz Power plans to take part in the public bidding for independent power producer (IPP) administrator contracts which comprises the transfer of the management and control of total energy output of power plants under contract with Napocor to the IPPAs.
