Aeolis has undertaken initial development and permitting activities on the project since 2005, and will have the option to retain certain ownership in the project on completion.
The site has obtained an environmental assessment certificate for up to 320MW of wind generation capacity.
Brookfield will lead and control future development of the project with involvement of the Aeolis team.
Brookfield chief investment officer Ralf Rank said that the company believes this site to be one of British Columbia’s more advanced wind development projects and its location in one of the province’s most attractive wind regimes will position it competitively for future development.
