Under the $50m contract, Expro will provide well testing, large bore subsea landing string, well intervention, fluid analysis and surface sampling services for a significant scope of development work.

The first phase of the project will include more than 20 high-rate gas production wells.

The contract scope includes providing a single train high-rate well testing package featuring its 175mmscf/day mega-flow recycling test separator and 7in ELSA LBEH, large bore landing string assembly.

Expro will also offer wet gas metering and wireline services to complete and prepare the wells before entering into the production phase.

Work on the project will commence in late 2014 to and continue until 2017/18.

The Ichthys LNG project, which will have an initial capacity to produce 8.4 million tonnes of LNG a year, is a joint venture between Inpex group companies, Total group companies and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas.

The project will have 1.6 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas per annum, as well as about 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
