Regulated electric utility segment earnings increased by $7 million (an increase of 22.6%), from earnings of $31 million for Q3 2006, to earnings of $38 million for the same quarter in 2007.

The net loss at the regulated natural gas utility segment increased by $19.6 million, from a net loss of $11 million during the third quarter of 2006, to a net loss of $30.6 million for the same quarter in 2007.

The firm’s energy services unit’s earnings decreased by $7.9 million (a decrease of 37.4%), from earnings of $21.1 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, to earnings of $13.2 million for the same quarter in 2007.

The firm said that this was partly due to the fact that after tax income from discontinued operations at energy services decreased $12.3 million, driven by a $12.7 million gain on the sale of Sunbury Generation in the third quarter of 2006.
