More than a quarter of the wind turbines at Lillgrund are already generating power. Before the turn of the year, the energy generated by the completed wind farm will correspond to the electrical energy demand of more than 60,000 households.
Anders Dahl, head of Vattenfall Wind Power Nordic, said: Lillgrund wind farm is part of the Vattenfall investment in renewable power generation plant. During the coming decade, we will be investing SEK45 billion in renewable generation capacity, which will increase the electrical energy available on the Nordic market by 10TWh. Most of the SEK41 billion investment is into wind power. Our ambition is to supply electricity from wind power to 1.6 million homes during this period.
