The draft EIS is an outcome of stakeholder consultation, research and studies conducted by the company.
It is designed to achieve approval to construct and operate an underground mine over five years, to recover uranium from the Ranger 3 Deeps mineral resource from 200 and 500m below ground.
ERA chief executive Andrea Sutton said that the draft EIS assesses the environmental and social impacts of the project and outlines the proposed safeguards and mitigation measures to manage potential impacts from underground development.
"ERA has successfully protected the surrounding environment during more than 30 years of operations at Ranger which has been confirmed by the independent Commonwealth Supervising Scientist," she added.
A prefeasibility study is underway to determine the viability of Ranger 3 Deeps mine and is planned to be completed by the end of this year.
Subject to board and regulatory approval, the company intends to commence first production in late 2015.
Separately, ERA said it has completed three cross sections of underground close-spaced drilling of the Ranger 3 Deeps resource, comprising 19 drill holes totaling 4,549.2m.
