Tanga District Commissioner, Dr. Ibrahim Msengi, said that five biogas plants are already in use in the region. Dr. Msengi stressed the significance of biogas technology for rural people who depend on cheap raw material and to decrease environmental pollution.
Biogas technology will help the village people in terms of cooking, but also lessens environmental pollution has it stops the need for tree felling, Dr. Msengi said.
Entrepreneurs from the Kilimanjaro, Manyara and Arusha regions have attended the training program on biogas plant installation, which is the phase II in the new plants project.
