Aker Solutions has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract from StatoilHydro for upgrading the drilling facilities on the Oseberg B platform in the North Sea.

According to the company, the project is expected to extend the productive lifetime of Oseberg B. Contract value is estimated to be approximately NOK1.3 billion.

The company said that the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract covers upgrades of all drilling systems for wells of up to 9,000m delivering increased drilling regularity.
