Under the $200m contract, L&T will design, provide detailed engineering, installation and commission the power plant on a turnkey basis.
The power plant’s integration and detailed engineering will be conducted by L&T-Sargent and Lundy, a subsidiary of L&T.
Additionally, the project will receive financing of approximately $167m from four development partners of Government of Bangladesh from the Middle-East, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and OPEC Fund.
Recently, L&T secured $280m contract for construction of the 360MW Bheramara combined cycle power plant.
Shailendra Roy said the L&T’s capabilities will contribute to the growth of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Power Secretary Monowar Islam said he was impressed with the overall capabilities of L&T and was delighted that an organization of high calibre would execute the Sikalbaha project.
