The Spanish company has turned out to be the winning bidder of this project after having participated in an international selection process called by Eletronuclear, a Brazilian state-owned company. The 657MW plant is located in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The work consists of the implementation of preventive maintenance on the nozzles of the pusher and will be performed together with the Welding Services, which specializes in welding with a technical complexity, mitigation of cracks and repair services of other nuclear components.

Currently, at the Angra nuclear power plant, Iberdrola Ingenieria is performing the project for the ultasound inspection of unit 1.

Among other works performed by Iberdrola Engineering in Brazil is the project of the substitution of the water generators of unit 1 of this power plant, which was completed last year. The principal objective of this contract was to replace the existing generators by new ones.

The engineering subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group assumed the technical and construction management of the project, leading the activities of engineering, planning and supervision of construction, Iberdrola said.
