Since 2001, the mine was put on care and maintenance, and is said to be a fully-permitted brownfields graphite mine. The company restarted the operations in July.

Over the last month, Flinders completed wet commissioning of all systems, commenced feedinf ore into mill and processing plant, drawn first graphite concentrate from floatation circuit overflow.

European customers are conducting site visits, vendor representatives are on site in order to assist with fine tuning of new equipment and key stakeholders are invited for the opening ceremony of the Woxna facility in September, the company said.

Flinders Resources president and CEO Blair Way said: "Our Woxna graphite plant is up and running in Sweden again, marking the culmination of our last 8 months of efforts.

"Graphite production will place Flinders at the forefront of the graphite sector, with the ability to fill consumer needs immediately, and provide a sustainable European alternative to Chinese supply.

"Now that we have the confidence in our facility and product, we are working to expand our resource base through proving up our historical resources."
