As a result of this alliance, consumers can now make quick and convenient payments in 13 DOMO stores across Bucharest, Bacau and Constanta, in addition to the 20 Agip gas stations in Bucharest, Targu Jiu, Pitesti, Craiova, Timisoara and Targoviste where the service was already available. By the end of 2007, UniKasa is expected to be offered in up to 40 stores.

By this partnership, Citi takes a new step in developing the payment center concept, said Cristela Georgescu, deputy general manager of Citibank Romania. By strategic alliances with partners like DOMO, Citi will continue to expand its UniKasa network, and bring the highest level of user-friendly and convenient services to individuals throughout the country, be they Citi customers or not.

UniKasa allows individuals to pay Vodafone, Avon, Romtelecom, Electrica and Zapp bills by simply showing the invoice to a UniKasa cashier, who will then scan the invoice’s bar code. The payment is then registered in the system and confirmed through a receipt.

The UniKasa system is free of charge and available during the extended hours of the retail locations, as well as being faster than other payment methods.
