Under the contract, Landis+Gyr will supply smart meter products and software solutions for installation in residential buildings located in the city of Warsaw.

Landis+Gyr will supply its Gridstream end-to-end solution, including 50,000 smart meters and Gridstream AIM software.

The company expects to start deliveries in September 2014, with system installation planned for the end of this year.

Landis+Gyr said the system will have an interface to RWE’s existing IT infrastructure, and is designed to support its asset management requirements, as well as its billing services.

The first phase of the project will see the installation of 25,000 smart meters in residential buildings in Warsaw.

Phase one is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014 while the entire project is expected to be completed in December 2015.

Commenting on the contract, Landis+Gyr Poland country manager Andrzej Szymanski said: "This is a significant milestone for Landis+Gyr.
