Start-up is scheduled in the first quarter of 2015.

Municipal solid waste will be converted to feedstock by Andritz technology’s continuous pre-treatment following which Fiberight’s existing fermentation and distillation processes will be used to convert the feedstock into cellulosic ethanol.

Andritz’s technology features a unique steam heating concept in order to continuously preheat and cook the feedstock at elevated temperatures, producing an average of 200 bdmt/d of pretreated material.

Originally designed and built to produce ethanol from corn feedstocks, the blairstown ethanol facility was purchased by Fiberight back in 2009 for conversion to process wastes.

Fiberight focuses on transforming post-recycled municipal solid wastes and other organic feedstock into next generation renewable biofuels, with core product cellulosic ethanol.
