Under the memorandum of agreement, the two companies would develop, commercialize, operate and maintain a 1MW mini-hydro power plant within the National Irrigation Administration’s (NIA) existing facility in Rizal, Nueva Ecija.
NDC general manager Ma. Lourdes Rebueno said NDC would invest PHP45m in the project, representing a 50%-share of the total required capital of the Rizal hydropower project.
Scheduled to commence construction next month, the Rizal hydropower project is located at the Pampanga River Irrigation System Main Canal (PRISMC), which is downstream from the Rizal Diversion Dam in Nueva Ecija.
