Under the terms of the LNG SAP accord, Persero will acquire an additional 0.76 million tons per annum of LNG, beginning in 2019, for 20 years from Corpus Christi Liquefaction Terminal Train 2.
As part of the first deal signed between Pertamina and Cheniere Energy in December 2013, Cheniere had committed to supply of approximately 0.76 million tons per annum of LNG for 20 years.
Pertamina Gas director Hari Karyuliarto said the agreement is consistent with Pertamina’s strategy to meet the growing gas demand of Indonesia, mainly for electricity and industrial sector.
"This additional long term sales agreement demonstrates Pertamina’s strong commitment in pursuing the certainty of LNG supply for its LNG infrastructure projects," Karyuliarto added.
The NLG will be purchased by Pertamina on an FOB basis for a purchase price indexed to the monthly Henry Hub price plus a fixed component, as part of the second deal.
