Foster Wheeler’s Korean subsidiary, BHI Co won the contract for the 2,100MW combined-cycle plant.

The HRSGs will be coupled to six SGT6-5000F Siemens gas turbines firing natural gas and oil with commercial operation planned to start in 2017.

Foster Wheeler did not disclose the terms of the agreement and the royalty value received for the deal was included in the company’s bookings for the first quarter of 2014.

BHI Co president Woo Jong-Ihn said the company has executed several projects in the Middle East and the latest contract expands its position in the region.

"Based on the combination of Foster Wheeler technology and BHI design and production capabilities, BHI intends to continue its marketing activities in the combined cycle power plant market throughout the world," Jong-Ihn said.

BHI is engaged in the engineering, production, and sale of heat exchangers and boilers in South Korea and globally.
