Fars News Agency cited NGSC chief Massoud Samivand as saying that Iran’s private sector companies will construct the plants.
"Some five investors have so far obtained the necessary license for signing contract to set up the plants," Samivand added.
Currently, NGSC is working closely with universities and knowledge-based companies including Tehran University, Sharif University of Technology and Tarbiat Modaress University as well as Shiraz and Shahroud universities for the projects.
Iranian officials said in September 2013 that Iran’s private sector companies will build eight small and middle sized gas condensate refineries in Assaluyeh, the onshore installations of the South Pars gas field.
Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) economic development and investment attraction manager Hojatollah Fereidouni said eight Iranian investors are seeking to establish gas condensate refineries, which will focus on producing gasoil, gasoline, naphtha and bitumen, in the zone.
"The refineries will be able to process between 20 to 150 thousand barrels per day adding it is forecast they will be built in next three years," Fereidouni added.
