Designed to generate 500kW of electrical output, the plant will operate using a mixture of agricultural waste and energy crops while the power generated will be in large part fed into the grid, providing around 1,500 households with electricity.

The thermal energy will be used for a drying facility and the farm itself.

Owned and operated by Sinclair Agricultural & Recycling Services, the AD plant is scheduled for finalisation in December 2014.

Constructed using the well-established Biogest PowerRing technology, the plant will provide advantages in terms of energy efficiency, operational reliability and modular design.
