Reuters has revealed that the latest auction results for power transmission capacity for the coming winter indicate that prices will be around half that seen during last years energy crisis in the UK.

Auction prices on the trans-Channel transmission cables for the coming October 2006 – March 2007 period are current at an average of E46,975 per megawatt, compared to an average of E101,563 last winter, Reuters say, quoting Britain’s National Grid as its source.

Meanwhile prices are up for power flowing in the opposite direction (i.e. power supplied to France from the UK).
