Under the $50m contract, Subsea 7 will install flexible pipelines and umbilicals for both fields, while the offshore installation phase is scheduled to be executed by the Subsea 7 vessel, the Seven Seas in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The company will also conduct onshore project management and engineering from its Houston office.
Subsea 7 Africa & Gulf of Mexico senior vice president Olivier Carré said this is the first deepwater project for Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas and Subsea 7 forward to building and developing our partnership with Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas.
"Subsea 7’s track record in managing and executing projects of this nature, working closely with the client, was key to our success in securing this contract," Carré added.
