The properties, at closing, will have net production of approximately 40 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalent per day.

Separately, AELP platform company, American Energy-Marcellus (AEM), has signed agreements with East Resources and an unnamed private company to procure approximately 48,000 net acres of leasehold in Doddridge, Harrison, Marion, Tyler and Wetzel Counties, West Virginia, US.

The properties are likely to have net production of approximately 135 mmcfe per day, at closing.

The acquisition price of the two transactions is $1.75bn, while both the agreements are slated to be closed in the next 60 days.

Currently, the sellers are using two rigs for the development of the acreage, which are being acquired by AEU and AEM.

Operated drilling activity will be increased to 4-6 rigs by year end 2015 by AEU and AEM.

Meanwhile, American Energy-Permian Basin (AEPB), an affiliate of American Energy Partners, (AELP), also signed $2.5bn agreement with affiliates of Denver-based Enduring Resources (Enduring) to purchase approximately 63,000 net acres of leasehold in the southern Permian Basin, primarily in Reagan and Irion Counties, Texas, US.

The properties are likely to have net production of approximately 16,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, at closing.

Over the next decade, AEPB is planning to drill up to approximately 2,500 gross wells and 1,750 net wells on its acreage.
