As a primary supplier of substation engineering services for FirstEnergy’s "Energizing the Future" initiative, TRC will design improvements to existing infrastructure at 69, 138 and 345 kV substations in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania during the initial phase of the program.
Through "Energizing the Future," FirstEnergy will invest more than $2.8 billion in transmission system upgrades over the next four years.

"The upgrades will increase FirstEnergy’s load-serving capability; improve system reliability; reduce line losses; and improve FirstEnergy’s high voltage transmission infrastructure."
The project work will be supported by TRC engineers who live and work in FirstEnergy’s service areas.
