Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying that, "There is a memorandum on the construction of a nuclear power plant, and [Sergey] Kiriyenko [CEO of the Rosatom state corporation] will go there [to Astana to sign the document]," he told journalists.
Kazakhstan is planning to build nuclear power plants in its energy-deficient regions.
Russia is also in talks with Kazakhstan for bilateral cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, Ushakov said.
The two nations will also sign four agreements on the peaceful uses of atomic energy which also includes a comprehensive program of cooperation in the nuclear energy sphere, Ushakov added.
