Alstom has secured an order worth over €200m from Scottish Power Renewables, a subsidiary of Iberdrola Renovables, to build the expansion project.
The project will use 69 Alstom ECO 100 wind turbines each with a capacity of 3MW and six ECO 74 turbines each with a capacity of 1.67MW.
The expansion of the Whitelee farm is part of an agreement with Alstom to install 250 wind turbines in nine of Iberdrola Renovables’ facilities in Spain and the UK with a combined capacity of 500MW.
