Drilled on 11 December 2012, the well reached a total depth of 3,315ft on 16 December and intersected good quality sand development in the Basal Sands of the Carbonera Formation and the Eocene Mirador Formation.
The company decided to abandon the well after wireline logs taken out after drilling showed less amount of oil in both formations.
The third well drilled in the CPO-13 Block, Tornado-1 was spud by PetroNova and the operator underthe Phase 1 exploration program as per the exploration and production contract with ANH.
PetroNova will now consider to move the rig to the Guasco Prospect in the CPO-13 Block.
