The Mobley gas processing facility located in Wetzel County, West Virginia has a capacity to process 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) gas.
MarkWest is expecting the facility to support development of rich-gas from the Marcellus Shale produced by EQT Corporation, Magnum Hunter Resources and other producers.
The plant is currently working at its 60% capacity and is expected to soon reach its full production to meet the increasing drilling success of the producers in the Marcellus Shale region.
The company is also construction a second Mobley facility with 120 MMcf/d capacity which is likely to be completed in the first quarter of 2013.
MarkWest has plans to bring the third and the final Mobley gas processing plant onine in the fourth quarter of 2013. The third facility will have 200 MMcf/d capacity.
Upon the completion of all the three projects, the Mobley complex will have about 520 MMcf/d of gas processing capacity.
MarkWest Energy Partners chairman, president and chief executive officer Frank Semple said the first Mobley plant was a challenge to the company due to its location.
"With the initial plant now online and expansions well underway, our producer customers now have the infrastructure needed to efficiently develop their prolific Marcellus Shale acreage in northern West Virginia," Semple added.
The company will supply the natural gas liquids (NGL) recovered from the Mobley complex through its NGL pipeline to the 60,000 barrels per day Houston fractionation complex in Washington County, Pennsylvania to separate the products and market them.
