The company provided 90,000 Yingli 72 Cell Solar modules to be installed on a single axis solar tracking system.

Owned by PSEG Solar Source, the project is being developed and constructed by Colorado-based juwi solar.

Electricity produced by the farm will be purchased by the Salt River Project under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

The installation has the capacity to generate enough electricity for the needs of 3,300 homes in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

juwi solar CEO Michael Martin said that the large scale solar farm began operations within one year of ground breaking.

"Yingli Americas’s sophisticated logistical support and flexibility was a key factor in the successful construction and commissioning of the entire system," Martin added.

Yingli Green Energy chairman and CEO Liansheng Miao commented, "We’re pleased to be part of one of the biggest operational solar projects in the U.S. – this certainly cements our leadership role in the utility space."
