The receipt of the authorization, signifying the third such authorization from the TCEQ, enables the company to initiate operations at Production Area-3 of its South Texas mine.
Commencement of in-situ recovery of uranium at Palangana, significantly extends the company’s production area at the mine in the southeast direction.
Wellfields and well control facilities are already in place at the mine as operations are currently underway at Production Areas 1 and 2.
Uranium Energy president and CEO Amir Adnani remarked that combined with the recent approval other authorizations will significantly increase uranium production in South Texas.
"In addition, the Company is continuing to permit and develop Production Areas 4 and 5 at Palangana," Adnani added.
