The company has purchased the interest in the pipeline to support its long-term commitment to serve the German market and has also secured long-term crude oil supply for its refinery Gunvor Refinery Ingolstadt (GRI).

With a capacity to process 110,000 barrels per day, GRI produces gasoline, diesel, blended diesel and jet fuel.

The 752km long crude oil pipeline starts from Italy and connects Austria and Germany. It runs 465km from Trieste in Italy through the Alps to Ingolstadt in Germany.

Partners of Transalpine Pipeline are ÖMV; Shell and Ruhr Oel with 25%, 24% and 11% interests respectively. Eni and Gunvor each has 10% stake in the pipeline, while ExxonMobil, ConocoPhilips and Total own 6%, 3% and 2% interests respectively.
