The approximately 70km long underground natural gas pipeline transports Marcellus Shale gas in Pennsylvania and New York to Millennium Pipeline and Tennessee Pipeline.

Of the total length of the system, about 23km of the southern portion of the gathering system with a capacity of 275 million cubic feet per day, will connect the local gas production of Southwestern Energy to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline in Lenox Township, Pennsylvania.

DTE Pipeline President Peter Cianci said, "Many stakeholders will benefit, especially landowners as they realize royalty payments, and natural gas consumers along the Tennessee and Millennium pipelines, who will have an additional large-scale supply source available to them."

About 57km of the rest of the pipeline will interconnect with the Millennium Pipeline in Sanford, New York and is expected to be completed in January 2013.
