The city had secured a grant to deploy the experimental systems to monitor sun exposure for the Southeast region in the US.
Funded by the US Department of Energy, the project also seeks to promote learning among students.
All the parks feature information kiosks, where visitors can view weather and energy data generated by the solar panels.
Solar Source vice president Rick Gilbert said that these systems, installed by the company, are data collection points for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
"These solar panels will educate the public, especially children, whose futures will be powered by solar energy significantly more than prior generations," Gilbert added.
Sunlit Park systems demonstrate various sizes ranging from a 235 watt panel at Coquina Key Park to a 234 panel array at Wildwood Park Recreational Center.
