Under the A$80m ($83.5m) contract, the company will provide multidisciplinary core maintenance and shutdown services to aid the operations phase of the under-construction QCLNG plant, at Curtis Island, near Gladstone in Queensland, Australia.
The QCLNG plant will convert coal seam gas (CSG) into liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the plant and supply cleaner hydrocarbon energy.
QGC will transport CSG through a 340km long underground pipeline network to Gladstone where the gas will be converted into LNG at the plant on Curtis Island.
Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said the company will provide service to Queensland’s first CSG LNG plant.
"Monadelphous has been established in Gladstone for more than 20 years and this contract will provide new employment opportunities in the region and add to our growing portfolio of LNG work," Velletri added.
The initial six and half year project work will begin in January 2013.
