The company’s Botswana subsidiary Weldon Investment holds the licenses, which cover an area of 475km² in the country.

Serowe Coal Project comprises the prospecting licenses PL339/2008 and PL340/2008 while PL341/2008 is known as the Kweneng Coal Project.

Continental Coal CEO Don Turvey stated that the renewal contributes to the growth of the company.

"With the JORC Compliant Resource that we have already delineated and the larger Exploration Target that has been determined by our geological consultants, our Botswana projects have the potential to be significant assets for the Company and we can now move forward with our next phase of exploration planning," Turvey added.

The renewal enables the company to finalize its proposed Phase 2 exploration drilling program across both coal projects.

Exploration is aimed at enhancing existing resources and to convert a large portion of the exploration target into JORC compliant resources on the Serowe and Kweneng Coal Projects.
