The Frankowo-1 well located on the company’s 100% owned Block 246 and is being drilled to target the Rotliegend sandstone reservoir.

FX Energy has so far recovered gas cut brine and no free gas and has decided to continue drilling and coring the well to a total depth of 2,200m and determine the thickness and properties of the reservoir.

International Exploration vice president Jerzy Maciolek said the company is exploring the Block 246.

"We selected this block because a large portion of it is unexplored and appears to have good hydrocarbon potential in the Main Dolomite, Rotliegend and Carboniferous," Maciolek said.

"The Frankowo-1 well has given us encouraging data from both the Main Dolomite and the Rotliegend.

"Of course we are disappointed that the Rotliegend does not trap at this location, but hopeful about our upcoming test of the Main Dolomite."

FX Energy has drilled its Kutno-2 well to a total depth of 6,577m and will run a drill stem test which is expected to start in the next couple of weeks.
