The contract extends the charter of the semi-submersible rig Scarabeo 5, a fourth-generation semi-submersible rig capable of operating in water depths of up to 2,000m and drilling to depths of up to 9,000m.
The rig has been working in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea since 1990.
Saipem’s business units inclues Engineering & Construction and Drilling, with a strong bias towards oil & gas related activities in remote areas and deepwater.
