The Japanese utility said fire was extinguished but it had no schedule for a restart pending an investigation.

There were no worries of power shortage as a result of abrupt plant shut down, reported Reuters.

The plant is located in Nagoya-city, Aichi, and is adjacent to an existing conventional thermal power station.

Chubu has 198 power plants with combined generating capacity of 32,835MW, according to the utility’s website.
