The agency is considering the possibility of providing funding for two of the Khwar hydropower projects, as well as small and medium-sized dams, reported The Nation.
WAPDA Chairman Syed Raghib Abbas Shah is reported to have told the USAID Mission Director Jock Conly and Deputy Mission Director Roger Garner that international assistance to its projects was instrumental in generating electricity and alleviating poverty of the region.
The agency is currently supporting the construction of the Gomal Zam Dam project besides the rehabilitation of the existing Tarbela Hydel Power Station.
