The company has already signed a power purchase agreement with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam on 27 January 2012.

The project is likely to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2013.
Welspun Energy subsidiary Welspun Solar AP emerged as the preferred bidder during the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission Phase-1- Batch-2 auction.
The company is further adding over 250MW solar projects in India by the end of 2013.
