The 500MW thermal power generating unit is located at Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station (STPS) in the state and is expected to produce 12 million units of electricity every day.
Under the contract BHEL will design, engineer, manufacture, supply, install and commission the steam generator and steam turbine generator along with other auxiliaries and controls and instrumentation.
The company will manufacture required equipment at its plants located in cities like Trichy, Ranipet, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Banglore and Bhopal.
BHEL’S Power Sector – Western Region will install and commission the equipment.
The cumulative power generating capacity of the STPS will be 4,760MW.
