The equipment will be installed at the Meja thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Meja Urja Nigam is joint venture between NTPC and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utapatdan Nigam.

As a part of the contract, Toshiba will be responsible for engineering, procurement, manufacturing and installation and testing of the steam turbine generator islands.

The company said the commercial operation of the first unit is slated in 48 months from the award of the contract and the second unit in 54 months.

Toshiba Corp Indian subsidiary Toshiba JSW Turbine and Generator will manufacture steam turbine and generator for the plant.

Toshiba’s Keihin Product Operations in Japan will also supply the steam turbine and generators.
