The restart of unit 2 follows a 38-day, 16-hour refueling outage of the power plant that began on 21 March.
Indiana Michigan also installed new main output transformers in addition to refueling the reactor and performing regular maintenance and testing work.
The unit 2 Main Generator includes a separate 223-tonne transformer for each of the three electric phases.
Prior to the start of the refueling outage, the unit ran for 471 consecutive days since the previous refueling.
With both units at full power, the facility can produce enough electricity for more than one and one half million average homes.
Indiana Michigan Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Electric Power.
