The ground-mounted solar facility work is being delivered for InfraClass Energie 6 and European Sustainable Power Fund 2, managed by KGAL GmbH & Co KG.
Gehrlicher Solar will develop about 62ha of the 87ha area with substructures, solar modules and inverters and the remaining area will be used to create habitats for meadow-breeding birds.
The solar power system is expected to produce about 33 million kWh per annum of green electricity which is sufficient to serve the needs of around 9,300 three-person households.
The project is slated to be commissioned by June 2012.
