The company will also provide all training and development programmes, as well as operations engineering and support services.
The JV will put together a maintenance database and ensure operational readiness for the offshore facilities, including writing operations procedures.
The topsides will be transported to the offshore installation site on a barge, and installed onto the substructure using a float over procedure.
The initial phase of the project will consist of two liquefied natural gas trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tons per annum and a domestic gas plant.
The offshore Wheatstone project processing platform will be one of Australia’s largest offshore facilities with a topsides weight of around 37,000 tons.
