FENOC will replace 65 of the 157 fuel assemblies in the unit 1 and will conduct safety inspections.

The inspections include the unit’s high pressure turbine, main electrical generator and containment liner.

FENOC will also perform preventative maintenance on major components, including pumps, valves and the cooling tower, to ensure continued safe and reliable operations.

The 911MW unit operated safely and reliably for 359 consecutive days and has generated about 9.3 million MWh of electricity since the completion of its last refueling in November 2010.
