The natural-gas-fired power plant will be built in the north of the Gyeongsangbuk-do province.

The firms will supply one H-class gas turbine, one steam turbine, one generator and one heat recovery steam generator as well as the Balance of Plant (BoP), and I&C technology in a single shaft configuration.

Siemens will build Andong CCPP on a turnkey basis as consortium leader with its partner GS E&C, and will deliver the main components one SGT6-8000H gas turbine, one SST6-5000 steam turbine and one SGen6-2000H generator.

Supply also includes one Benson heat recovery steam generator, the BoP-equipment, and the SPPA-T3000 instrumentation and control system for the power plant.

Power generated by the plant will be sold to power utility Korea Southern Power.

The plant is scheduled to start commercial operations in April 2014.
