The proposed 27 turbine site will have an installed capacity of between 67.45MW and 81MW.
Scope of work includes upgrading of local roads, as well as new access tracks onto site and spur roads to each of the turbine locations.
Hard-standing areas and foundations would also need to be created for each of the turbines.
Power generated would be transferred through underground cables to an on-site substation and construction is expected to take about 18 months.
SSE director of onshore renewables David Gardner said the company is committed in helping increase the amount of renewable electricity generation in the UK.
"We believe this is a well-sited project and we have worked closely with key consultees to refine the design" added Gardner.
