The solar installations are located at municipal facilities throughout the city.
The solar installations will produce over 1,800MWh annually, that will save the city between $1.6m and $3m over the 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) term.
Enfinity Development executive vice president Bob Hopper said the company will own and operate the systems on behalf of the city, helping Reno to benefit from energy savings and strengthen its position as a leading sustainable community.
"Increasingly, municipalities are recognizing that solar energy is a viable, commercially-sound proposition," Hopper said.
"Cities like Reno are now able to purchase clean energy, often at a lower rate than their current cost of energy, without significant up-front capital costs or the responsibility for maintaining the system."
Construction services for the project were provided by Swinerton Renewable Energy, a division of Swinerton.
