The projects include especially from renewable sources, as well as water, sanitation, and health concessions in Latin America.

The six-year credit line will fund costs associated with the development of initial stages of projects, such as legal or environmental and social impact studies, initial construction works.

It also includes purchase of land, machinery, and equipment, and expenses related to a pilot solar energy initiative.

IDB project team leader, Valentina Sequi said IDB will help create sustainable solutions for infrastructure needs in the region through a partnership with a global leader, and foster the development of innovative initiatives in solar energy generation.

Abengoa with the IDB resources, will diversify its supply of short-term financing, that is unavailable on international credit markets due to the crisis in Europe.
