The company is drilling the well to a planned total depth of 1,888m using the Offshore Courageous jack-up rig.
The objectives of the well are to appraise and test the Oligocene lower coastal plain sandstones of the PM307 PSC area.
Bertam-2 aims to test the continuity and quality of the K10 oil reservoir and explore the potential of deeper sands in an independent closure on the northern side of the structure.
Lundin Malaysia operates the PM307 PSC with a 75% equity interest, while Petronas Carigali holds the remaining 25% interest.
